Spherical, Bound and Broken
This work is an invitation to explore the process behind the design objects. It began with binding a silicone form, capturing the tension and wrinkles. When I experimented with different materials, I discovered the beauty of transformation.
Knotting and binding with rope is a technique I apply in this work. The smooth, spherical forms invite touch and offer a pleasant tactile experience.
The focus of the process is on perfecting the form, resulting in a series of design objects. The spheres have a unique inner structure, and when cast in porcelain, a fascinating texture is revealed.

MY WORKING METHed
With my practice, I aim to spark people’s curiosity. Combining materials and applying different techniques lies at the core of my approach. I consider my hands as explorers, through which I feel textures and discover small details, there by strengthening the professionalization of my practice.
IN ADDITION TO THE SPHERICALS, I CREATE ABSTRACT PICES AS A VISUAL TOOL. THE WORK WILL SLOWLY SHIFT TOWARDS A SATURATED COLOR, IT IS ALWAYS A SURPRISE AND SOMETHING YOU REALLY HAVE TO EXPERIENCE FOR YOURSELF.

Nadine onderzoekt voortdurend nieuwe manieren om haar fascinatie voor materialen, structuren en maakprocessen te verdiepen. In haar designpraktijk staat ontwerpend materiaalonderzoek centraal, waarbij een intuïtieve werkwijze leidt tot ruimtelijke en tactiele objecten met onverwachte oppervlaktes en spanningen. Door experiment en prototyping verkent zij de mogelijkheden en het gedrag van materialen, resulterend in unieke structuren en patronen.
Verschillende maak en bindtechnieken vormen een essentieel onderdeel van haar ontwerpproces om materiaal, vorm en huid te onderzoeken. Naast driedimensionaal werk verkent zij abstractie als visueel middel binnen haar ontwerppraktijk. Deze verkenningen stimuleren de ontwikkeling van nieuwe vormen, texturen en toepassingen, en versterken haar positie binnen het domein van experimenteel en collectable design.

Nadine continuously explores new ways to deepen her fascination with materials, structures, and making processes. Her design practice focuses on exploratory material research, where an intuitive approach results in spatial and tactile objects with unexpected surfaces and tensions. Through experimentation and prototyping, she investigates the possibilities and behavior of materials, producing unique structures and patterns.
Various making and binding techniques are an essential part of her design process, allowing her to explore material, form, and surface. In addition to three-dimensional work, she explores abstraction as a visual tool within her practice. These explorations drive the development of new forms, textures, and applications, strengthening her position in the field of experimental and collectable design.
