Spherical, Bound and Broken
This work is an invitation to explore the process behind the sculptural objects. It started with my fascination for binding a silicone form, capturing the tension and wrinkles. When I investigated materials that go from soft to hard, such as concrete, plaster, and clay, I discovered the beauty of the transformation.
Knotting and binding with rope is a technique that I apply to this work. The smooth spherical shapes invite you to touch them and offer a pleasant feeling.
The focus in the process is perfecting the dense form, which leads to a series of unique objects. The spheres have a unique inner structure, which gives the porcelain shapes a fascinating texture.

WITH MY ARTWORK, I AIM TO SPARK PEOPLE’S CURIOSITY. COMBINING MATERIALS AND APPLYING DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES FORM THE CORE OF MY APPROACH. I CONSIDER MY HANDS TO BE EXPLORERS, THROUGH WHICH I FEEL TEXTURES AND DISCOVER SMALL DETAILS.
IN ADDITION TO THE SPHERICALS, I ALSO CREATE PAINTINGS WITH FOUND PIGMENTS. A SMALL PIECE OF ART THAT CHANGES COLOR OVER TIME. THE WORK WILL SLOWLY SHIFT TOWARDS A BLUER HUE. IT IS ALWAYS A SURPRISE AND SOMETHING YOU REALLY HAVE TO EXPERIENCE FOR YOURSELF.

Nadine is voortdurend op zoek naar nieuwe manieren om haar fascinatie voor diverse materialen en technieken te verkennen. Haar intuïtieve benadering vormt de leidraad in haar werk, wat vaak resulteert in kunstwerken vol onverwachte verrassingen. Ze haalt inspiratie uit zowel haar omgeving als de experimenten die ze uitvoert, waarin ze unieke structuren en patronen ontdekt.
Verschillende maak-technieken fascineren en inspireren haar, en vormen een essentieel onderdeel van haar creatieve proces. Naast het experimenteren met materialen heeft ze een grote liefde voor abstract schilderwerk, wat een belangrijke aanvulling is op haar kunst. Haar passie voor abstractie en visuele ontdekkingen is voelbaar in elk werk dat ze creëert.

Nadine is constantly seeking new ways to explore her fascination with various materials and techniques. Her intuitive approach guides her work, often resulting in artworks filled with unexpected surprises. She draws inspiration from both her surroundings and the experiments she creates, through which she discovers unique structures and patterns.
Various “making” techniques fascinate and inspire her, forming an essential part of her creative process. In addition to experimenting with materials, she has a deep love for abstract painting, which is an important complement to her art. Her passion for abstraction and visual exploration is obvious in every piece she creates.
